Biography
I was born in France to a French mother and a German father. I grew up in a diverse and international environment, living in several European countries and in the United States (Florida), where I first attended kindergarten and acquired my American English. During high school, I also spent half a year in Toronto, Canada, where I learned about Canadian culture and the way of life.
I chose to study medicine with the idea of specializing in Psychiatry to deepen my understanding of how the body and mind interact and influence each other. After my first year in Luxembourg, I continued on to the Catholic University of Leuven in Belgium. During my studies, I spent a semester in Chile, working in a local hospital, where I had my first experience with mental health in Spanish. In 2019, after marrying a Spaniard, I settled with my family in Madrid.
During my five years of Psychiatry residency in Belgium, I worked with patients of all ages in diverse settings, including hospitals, emergency rooms, outpatient clinics, and day care centers. This allowed me to learn and implement validated treatments for a variety of mental illnesses, including postpartum depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, ADHD, and eating disorders. I also worked with children and adolescents with autism, behavioral disorders, self-harm, and suicidal thoughts, which gave me a broad perspective on different therapeutic approaches.
